Union County Public Library is part of the Mountain Regional
Library System, which also includes Towns and Fannin Counties. Union is the busiest library in the system.
The librarian is Ms. Susie Brendle. The building has been renovated

A library card is free. The card may be used at any PINES library in
the state. To apply for a card, bring a picture ID and proof that you are a resident of Georgia.
An online statewide catalog may be searched and books placed on
hold. The books will then be delivered to the library for pick-up. In addition, books checked out may be renewed
online. The address is www.gapines.org. Your user ID is your library card number.
The library has free round-the-clock public wireless service. A PINES
account is not necessary to connect.
There are twenty public access computers.
There is no charge for using a computer.
You may log into the public access computers using your library card number and PIN. Visitors may show their picture
ID to receive a guest pass for computer use. There is a limit of 7 times per year for guest passes. All computers
are connected to a printer. There is a charge of $0.15 cents per page for black and white copies and $0.50 for color
copies.
There is an interlibrary loan program for libraries outside the system.
It charges a $1.00 mailing fee for each book.
There are large collections
of video-tapes, DVDs, books on audio-tape and CDs, large-print books for the visually limited, and easy-reading picture
books for children. Downloadable eBooks and audiobooks are now available at www.mountainregionallibrary.org.
Storytime with Ms. Hannah is presented on Mondays
at 11:00 a.m. Book-signings by authors of local interest, informational seminars, book clubs, Teen Movie nights, and
other events are hosted by the library in its community room.

The charge is $0.25 per page to receive, $1.50 for the first page to send, and $0.50 for each additional page to send to the
same place at the same time. Local and toll-free faxes are free.
There is
a Xerox machine. The charge is $0.15 per page for letter-size copies, $0.20 for legal-size, $0.30 for ledger-size.
There is a book store in the library. Used hardbacks,
paperbacks, magazines, and audio-visual materials are offered at inexpensive prices.
